Department of Spanish Studies

Academic and Cultural Activities

We organize various academic and cultural activities from time to time to encourage the interdisciplinary and communicative approach of learning. Annual celebration of Día del Libro is one such event. Students read, recite, act, sing and participate in various academic and cultural activities organized during this event. We also observe International Mother Languages’ day on February 21 every year to promote linguistic and cultural diversity.

We take pride in our monthly wall-magazine called Creaciones where students and faculty from our Department bring forth the creative side of their self and contribute with articles, essays, poems and stories. Our student-teacher interactive evening club known as El Pájaro is a regular exercise that gives us a platform to know each other better beyond the four walls of a classroom while practising and sharing our knowledge of Spanish and culture of the Hispanic world. We also hold a monthly student seminar for our MA students to prepare them for further research and investigation in the area of their interest.
